Dr. Taim A. Muayqil

Consultant & Assistant professor of Neurology.

Dr. Taim Muayqil is a consultant and assistant professor of neurology at King Saud University and King Khalid University Hospital. He is currently the director of the neurology-training program and runs a Cognitive Disorders Clinic at the University Hospital.
Dr. Muayqil graduated from the college of medicine at King Saud University where he obtained his MBBS, and completed his residency in neurology and fellowship training in cognitive and Geriatric Neurology at the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada. Dr. Muayqil has worked as a consulting neurologist in both Canada and Saudi Arabia.

  • November 2012 Msc. In Clinical Epidemiology from the School of Public Health at the University of Alberta, Edmonton. Thesis title: Longitudinal performance of Neuropsychological Assessments in Parkinson's Disease

Primary interests

  • Memory disorders, neuropsychological assessment, early/pre-clinical diagnosis of dementia, disorders of higher cortical function, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease and neuro-degenerative disorders in general.
  • Neurological Disorders of the visual pathways, intracranial hypertension, optic nerve ischemia/inflammation, visual fields, including higher visual processing disorders.
  • General neurology and neurological research education.
