Prof. Neelum Aggarwal, MD

Dr. Aggarwal is an Associate professor of neurological sciences at Rush University. Her academic interests focus on understanding the cognitive, physical and psychosocial changes that occur in individuals as they age. Specific areas of her work include community-based participatory research focusing on risk factors for cognitive decline, with a special emphasis on how vascular disease and neuroimaging changes relate to cognitive functioning and Alzheimer’s disease in minority populations.

Dr. Aggarwal received her B.Sc. (Honors) in 1984 from University of Windsor followed by MD in 1988 from Chicago Medical School. She completed her residency training in Neurology in 1992 at Henry Ford Hospital and then did a Fellowship at Rush Alzheimer’s Disease Center/Rush Institute for Healthy Aging, Aging and Neurodegenerative Disorders. She is currently the Clinical core co-leader of Rush Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center and Co-investigator and senior attending neurologist, Chicago Health and Aging Project.
